Marlins trade Reyes and Johnson to the Blue Jays.

The details are still coming out but it appears that the Marlins are trading Jose Reyes, Josh Johnson, Mark Buehrle, John Buck, and Emilio Bonifacio to the Blue Jays for Henderson Alvarez, Justin Nicolino, Yunel Escobar, Adeiny Hechavarria, and Jake Marisnick amongst others. Look for more details to come out.

Trades you may have missed
The trade deadline is today and here are some deals that have happened in the last 24 hours.
The Blue Jays first traded outfielder Travis Snider to the Pirates for right-hander Brad Lincoln
The Blue Jays also  traded Eric Thames to the Mariners for Steve Delabar
The Mariners traded Brandon League to the Dodgers for a pair of minor leaguers: outfielder Leon Landry and right-hander Logan Bawcom
The Cubs trade Paul Maholm and Reed Johnson to the Braves for right-handed pitchers Arodys Vizcaino and Jaye Chapman
The Cubs traded Geovany Soto to the Rangers for Jacob Brigham
Here’s the worst story of the day.
One of the Red Sox players most likely to get traded, Ryan Sweeney, punched a door last night and broke his hand (most likely) the night before the deadline. He is getting put on the DL stopping any trade he might be in. That’s one way to block a trade.

10-player trade alert!

The Astros and Blue Jays made a 10-player trade with the Toronto Blue Jays on Friday.
Houston will ultimately receive seven players from Toronto in the deal, including two Major League players, right-hander Francisco Cordero and outfielder Ben Francisco, four Minor League players, right-handers Joe Musgrove and Asher Wojciechowski, left-hander David Rollins, catcher Carlos Perez and a player to be named later.
Two of the players the Astros received are former first-round Draft picks. In exchange for the seven players, the Astros have sent right-hander Brandon Lyon, left-hander J.A. Happ and right-hander David Carpenter to the Blue Jays.

I don’t have a screen shot or video yet, so just use your imagination.

Hope they have Progressive.

This kid should be named the King of Canada. All hail the King!

I had to take a screenshot when I saw this on the Jays broadcast.

That is Don Wakamatsu’s calligraphy, he does it for every lineup.

Edwin Jackson Traded to Toronto, Could be Flipped for Rasmus.

Toronto sent Jason Frasor and starter Zach Stewart in return for Jackson and Mark Teahen.

Lyle Overbay probably thought a return to Toronto would mean a datebook filled with dinners and drinks with old friends. He thought wrong.

Jojo Reyes has a winless streak of 26 consecutive starts.

Reyes is 0-12 with a 6.11 ERA over his last 25 starts, dating back to June 18, 2008 with the Braves, and he’s pitched with a lead in 13 of those starts. Over the last 89 seasons, only three other major-league pitchers had a streak of 25 or more consecutive starts without a victory. The others to do so over that span (1923-2011) were Matt Keough (0-18, 5.44 ERA during a span of 28 starts for the Athletics from 1978 to 1979), Bob Miller (0-15, 5.85 ERA over a 27-start span for the Cardinals and Mets from 1960 to 1962) and Anthony Young (0-17, 5.00 ERA in a span of 27 starts for the Mets and Cubs from 1992 to 1994).

ESPN

Today he goes against the Astros with a 15-29 record and a .341 winning percentage, the lowest in the majors. The Astros will throw Aneury “I wish I was Wandy” Rodriguez. Could today be the day that Reyes finally breaks his streak? As long as I have to wager nothing, I’m betting it is.
