BREAKING:  Chris Paul joining the Los Angeles Clippers

Of course, the NBA and David Stern had to ruin the legitimacy of the league to make it happen, but isn’t that a small price to pay so that the New Orleans Hornets can continue existing as a crummy basketball franchise?

I’m pro-contraction, pro-the unseating of David Stern, and pro-the banishment of noted racist, Clippers owner, Donald Sterling.

Prediction:  Blake Griffin scores 3.5-4 more points a game this season and is fifth in the league in scoring.

Christ, it’s finally over!

Paul to Clippers deal off. Well maybe. Kinda. For now.

David Stern has lost his damn mind.

The Clippers and Hornets have made a deal for Chris Paul.  The trade has been submitted to the league for approval.

The trade as submitted would cost the Clippers guard Eric Gordon, center Chris Kaman and forwardAl-Farouq Aminu. It would also include Minnesota’s first-round draft pick in 2012.

The Los Angeles Times, citing two sources familiar with the discussions, reported late Sunday the deal included Bledsoe, but the source told ESPN that is not so.” - ESPN

Two things are up in the air. The Clippers don’t want to include Bledsoe and they want Paul to pick up his option for one year, so they’d at least have him and Griffin for two seasons. It would be nice to see the Clippers competitive and Paul and Griffin together would be exciting.

Lakers pull out of deal for Paul; Trade Kardashian Odom for nothing
So Howard’s the target now? I don’t get it. They have bigs. I know Gasol is getting old and Bynum’s lower joints have been doomed since birth, but holding onto one of those two and teaming him with Paul and Kobe sounds better than just Howard and Kobe to me. I’m assuming they’ll have to give up Gasol and Bynum for Howard, but who really knows at this point? Odom for ‘draft considerations’ makes even less sense to me. He seems much more valuable to the team as a bargaining chip or a sixth man than those ‘draft considerations’ will be. Thoughts?

This is ridiculous. I love how they refer to him as the “unhappy Odom”, maybe that’s because he’s well aware that we was traded days ago.  Anyway, I was so thrilled that the NBA was back, and I forget how misguided the league is sometimes. First of all, the Lakers should have just thrown in a draft pick and resubmitted the trade. I’m pretty sure that Stern regrets vetoing the deal, and a small adjustment would have put it over the top. He couldn’t possibly approve the same deal and not look more foolish, so throw in something useless.  Oh well, it’s obviously off the table now. Basically, the Hornets are only allowed to trade him to a bad or small market team now or the owners (*AHEM* Dan Gilbert) will complain. This means, the Knicks, Celtics, Clippers(are they big market? I mean it’s LA, but the Clippers), are all not allowed to trade for him, and they probably offer the best three packages, which will probably be worse than what the Lakers gave up.

In case you missed the trade debacle tonight, I broke it down for you.
