Remember that day that the NFL didn't have a lockout?

Yeah, that was fun.

Well, now the lockout has been restored.

Nick Fairley and Ndamukong Suh are going to be on the same line.

Aaron Rodgers, Jay Cutler, and Christian Ponder just collectively shit themselves.

Wow

Atlanta gave up 5 picks for Julio Jones.

This could be a huge trade for Cleveland.

Trade that won't happen.

Here’s a trade that won’t happen. I didn’t hear it anywhere, so don’t think it’s a real thing. 1) Because player trades aren’t happening yet. Maybe it could happen tomorrow. 2) Player for player trades rarely happen. 3) Because it’s a stupid trade.

If I was the Panthers here’s what I would do.

  1. Draft Blaine Gabbert (or Cam Newton)
  2. Call Cincinnati see if they would trade OchoCinco for Jimmy Clausen.

So I’m sure Claussen doesn’t have teams drooling right now but he could be insurance in Cincinnati. OchoCinco has made it clear that he’s not going to be back. We saw last year that veteran receivers go for a 3rd (moss) or 4th (branch) round pick. I would put OchoCinco at about the level that Moss was at when he was traded. That was before all the non-sense. So if Claussen was in the draft this year, wouldn’t he go higher than a 4th? I would think so. When you have young underachieving talent, there s always a coach that thinks they can fix them.

So the aftermath of the trade. The Panthers would have a young QB with two good veteran receivers. (hopefully this trade would convince Steve Smith that the team’s offense will be solid.) It will be solid. They have a decent line, and if they can bring back their RBs, their offense wouldn’t be the worst in football. They would still need to work on their D but it’s a nice move forward.

For the Bengals, they would draft AJ Green. They have a good RB. Jermaine Gresham should be a good receiving TE. That’s a good young core. I’m not sure that Claussen is the answer this year, but it’s better than anyone they have after Carson Palmer. They could then trade Palmer to fill other holes. Maybe also bring in a veteran QB to mentor Claussen.

So this would never happen, but the Panthers should at least make the call.

*This post was only made for Mike Smith’s sake. A Panthers fan who from day 1 hated Jimmy Claussen. Maybe he can dream.

Chicago Who Is Your 6thMan?

oursixthman:

We have L.A covered with Jack. Spike and Jay-Z got New York, and now we need a face for the fans in Chi-Town.

With the Vince Vaughn story we feel we have the face of Our6thMan Chicago. However there is some stiff competition, so we thought we would let the fans decide.
